Bestseller Books. For me personally, it’s one of the best run offline shops/businesses currently in Mumbai. I have visited their shop in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai on multiple occasions since 2021, and have never left disappointed! And not only that, they also organize multiple book fairs across various Indian cities throughout the year. Again, I have visited those aforementioned fairs a couple of times when they were in Mumbai (the recent ones being in Thane and Powai), and again, it was a pretty good experience!

Some notable books that I got in used/second hand condition (including both the shop and the fairs) –

  • ‘The Kill List’ + ‘The Day of the Jackal’ by Frederick Forsyth.
  • ‘Fluke’ + ‘Shrine’ + ‘The Survivor’ by James Herbert (₹100/- each!).
  • ‘Witness for the Prosecution and Selected Plays’ by Agatha Christie (₹150/-).
  • ‘Ptolemy’s Gate’ by Jonathan Stroud [#3 of the ‘Bartimaeus’ trilogy] (₹23/- only!).
  • ‘Artemis Fowl and the Time Paradox’ by Eoin Colfer [#6 of the ‘Artemis Fowl’ series] (₹250/-).
  • ‘Assassins’ Creed: Renaissance’ + ‘Assassins’ Creed: Brotherhood’ by Oliver Bowden (₹100/- each!).
  • ‘American Gods’ by Neil Gaiman (₹250/-).
  • ‘The Name of the Wind’ by Patrick Rothfuss [#1 of the ‘Kingkiller Chronicles’] (₹250/-).
  • ‘Time of Contempt’ + ‘Baptism of Fire’ by Andrzej Sapkowski [#2 and #3 respectively of the ‘Witcher’ saga] (₹250/- each).
  • ‘Dune’ by Frank Herbert [#1 of the… seriously? You need an explanation for this? It’s like THE most popular sci-fi novel of ALL time! And not to forget that it’s been made into films two times now!] (₹200/-).

Those are some pretty big names in the world of books! And not to mention a couple other books I got from them as well which haven’t made the above list. What makes it even better is the price really, which is very pocket friendly, and also adding to that the condition of the books, which is very good in almost all the cases! What more can you possibly ask for, eh?

What was great about the whole thing?

  • Multiple fiction books are available at low prices (used/second hand, but still in very, very good condition!).
  • The genres are really well spread across the board, and multiple books of each genre is present, which is a great thing.
  • The library system sounds very good too (which I haven’t used personally). Basically, if you return the book within a certain time period, you’ll get a certain amount of cashback for it. The earlier you return the book; the more cashback you receive! (for instance, if you return a book within 15 days, you have a chance of getting around 50%-75% cashback for it, and so on).

What can be improved?

  • Honestly, no complaints from my side whatsoever! They’re really doing a fantastic job.

Other Info.

  • At the shop, the used books are pre-labelled with a fixed price tag (e.g. ₹100/-, ₹150/-, ₹200/- etc. for each book), while at the fairs, you can get the used books on a ‘kg’ basis (e.g. ₹100/- per kg, ₹200/- per kg, ₹300/- per kg, etc. depending on the genres).
  • For new books, at the shop and also on the various fairs, you’ll get a certain discount on the MRP.
  • You can also sell them your used books at the rate of ₹20/- to ₹30/- per kg.

Rating: – 10/10! (MUST VISIT!)
